Monster GreenPower Products Geared Toward Eliminating Wasteful Energy Drains with Home Entertainment Systems

Monster, the world leader in power conditioning and surge protection products, is proud to announce it is now shipping two innovative new Monster Digital PowerCenters with Monster GreenPower™ for home theater systems, the HDP 850G ($99.95) and the HDP 900G ($129.95). Both are designed to help consumers save energy and help the environment by automatically turning off home theater components when not in use.

Noel Lee, Head Monster, noted: “Many common electronics consume energy even when they’re not being used. This includes everything from HDTVs and other home theater components to computer monitors and printers. For instance, you may think your HDTV is off, but often it simply goes into stand-by power mode and continues to use electricity while you’re away. With GreenPower, we are utilizing innovative technologies that work automatically to reduce energy waste from products that are not in use. Our family of GreenPower energy-saving products are all part of our company-wide effort to help people fight the high cost of energy and help preserve the environment.”

Monster GreenPower Helps Slay Energy-Draining “Vampire Loads”
Like Monster’s previously introduced GreenPower PowerCenters geared toward computer use (see below), the new home entertainment products work automatically to eliminate “Vampire Load” energy waste in connected systems. Users simply plug their main home entertainment display device into the main “Green Power Control Outlet” which then controls three other outlets for connection of additional entertainment components (HDTV, DVD player, A/V receiver, etc.) When the main display device is turned off, the other GreenPower outlets automatically switch off, eliminating the energy wasted by peripheral components when they’re not in use. When the display device is turned back on, the GreenPower outlets automatically power the peripherals up again. Both new PowerCenters come with $300,000 Connected Equipment Warranties.

Monster GreenPower made its debut in 2008 in three Monster Digital Life™ products aimed at PC users, the MDP 900 ($129.95), MDP 800 ($99.95) and MDP 650 ($79.95) PowerCenters™, as well as three existing products geared toward home theater enthusiasts, the Monster Empowered™ IR PowerCenters™ EPIR 2450 ($499.95) and EPIR 3650 ($599.95) and the High Definition IR PowerCenter 2550 ($599.95).
