Widescreen Format Complements Laptops, New Operating Systems

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division, maker of award-winning, high-quality presentation and display products, today introduced the HD4000U, its first high-definition projector designed for wide-format laptops and imaging applications requiring the 16:9 aspect ratio. Available for a suggested retail price of $2995, the HD4000U is one of the lowest priced widescreen projectors targeted for the professional market today, and is poised for use with the newer wide XGA operating systems.

The projector boasts Texas Instruments DDP3020 Digital Light Processing™ TrueVision™ image processing and Mitsubishi’s BrilliantColor™, which uses a color-processing algorithm and system-level enhancements for greater brightness and truer, more vibrant colors while increasing mid-tone color levels by more than 50 percent.

“Our new HD4000U brings widescreen imaging to business and professional environments to complement the latest presentation tools and laptops,” said Frank Anzures, manager of projector product marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America.

Along with an impressive contrast ratio of 2500:1 for greater detail in dark images, particularly in video, the HD4000U weighs just 6.4 pounds, making it easy to carry home for a widescreen, high-definition home theater experience. Its 2000 ANSI lumens project crisp, bright images comparable to those from models with much higher brightness specifications.

“System consultants and integrators have been requesting a widescreen projector from Mitsubishi that shows excellent video,” said James Chan, director, product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. “Our HD4000U offers them the flexibility and portability they need for almost any setting.”

Pricing, Availability, Warranty
The HD4000U high-definition projector is currently available through authorized Mitsubishi dealers. The projector comes with Mitsubishi’s three-year limited warranty on parts and labor plus a 90-day limited warranty on the lamp. Like all Mitsubishi Digital XGA projectors, the HD4000U is covered by the Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program, a nationwide comprehensive service provided for units under warranty coverage that offers next business-day replacement for down units.
