Meedio Essentials Wins 2005 CES Innovations Design Award

Consumer Electronics Association to Recognize Meedio’s Excellence in Design and Engineering at 2005 Consumer Electronics Show (CES)

Houston, TX (PRWeb Direct) November 10, 2004 — Meedio, the global leader in digital home software, has been awarded the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering award by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Since 1989, the CEA has given consumer technology manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their newest products judged by a preeminent panel of independent industry designers, engineers and journalists. Meedio Essentials will be exhibited during the 2005 CES in South Hall 2, Booth 27123, along with Meedio’s other digital home software products.

Using a television, remote control, and a standard PC or Meedio-powered media server, users of Meedio Essentials can manage and enjoy movies, photos, music, games, news, weather, and almost any other type of media or information stored on a PC, network, or the Internet. Meedio Essentials can be seamlessly integrated with Meedio TV, which allows users to watch, schedule, record, and timeshift television programs using an integrated Electronic Program Guide (EPG). Meedio’s portfolio is completed by Meedio HouseBot, a home automation server which allows homeowners to easily integrate and control their lights, appliances, audio/video components, and other household devices.

All of Meedio’s products are built on an open platform that is easy to customize and extend. To date nearly 400 third-party developers have joined the Meedio Developers Network (MDN) to create add-ins such as custom themes and application extensions. Over 125 add-ins are now available through the Meedio Add-Ins Directory at http://www.meedio.com/maid.

Meedio’s software is sold direct to consumers at http://www.meedio.com, in retail outlets by regional software republishers, and through hardware manufacturers who use Meedio’s software to power preconfigured media servers and Set Top Boxes (STBs). Over 40 companies in 14 countries have licensed Meedio’s flexible software platform to accelerate their time-to-market and provide unique value to their customers.
