Liberty Wire & Cable Showcases Expanded EZLINX™ System and Solutions

New Termination Options, Panel Connectors and Bulk Cable Add to System’s In-the-Field Speed and Versatility

CEDIA EXPO, Indianapolis, Sept. 9, 2005 — Liberty Wire & Cable, worldwide supplier of a broad range of wire and cable products for the audio/video trade, including custom installers and systems integrators, showcases elements of an expanded EZLINX™ System at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo 2005, beginning here today.

Liberty’s new EZLINX termination options, panel connectors bulk cable option expand and enhance what is already the industry’s best solution for cabling challenges that require installation through conduit, without having to perform labor-intensive soldering in the field. EZLINX offers 17 different termination options, making it ideal for a broad variety of installations and projects, including hotels, conference rooms, court rooms, and virtually any commercial environment dealing with the latest in audio/video technology.

At InfoComm, Liberty introduced three new audio EZLINX termination options — EZLINX 6 XLR Plugs, EZLINX 6 XLR Jacks, and EZLINX 6_-inch Stereo Plugs. All have been designed to mate to EZLINX bulk cable, creating a quick 6-channel Audio Snake cable for Rental & Staging applications. The new EZLINX options share a common system ground when attached.

A series of new EZLINX panel-mount connectors, also being introduced, is designed to facilitate routing EZLINX systems through wall plates, racks and panels. They’re available as EZLINX pass-through 13-Pin DIN connectors in male-to-male and male-to-female configurations; and also in VGA male- and VGA female-to-EZLINX 13-Pin DIN connector configurations. Their wall plate capability lowers the number of signal-reducing junctions needed when configuring EZLINX applications.

In addition, EZLINX plenum bulk cable is now available with a CL2P/CMP rating in standard lengths. The new rating enhances the capabilities of the quick-connect EZLINX system in commercial environments. The recommended maximum length for bulk cable is 100 feet without an amplifier. Plenum EZLINX termination options with a CL2P/CMP rating are in development to allow for full plenum installations, from device to device.

All EZLINX system components are available now from authorized Liberty dealers. They can be seen with Liberty’s other fine products at Booth 822, Indiana Convention Center, during CEDIA EXPO.
