LG Electronics today announced the 27-inch UltraGear Gaming Monitor (model 27GN950) in the U.S. for $799.99. LG’s internal testing reveals it to be the world’s first 4K IPS 1ms Gray-to-Gray (GTG) gaming monitor. It’s designed for those who livestream their gaming sessions thanks to its expansive 4K-resolution screen. But it could also work well for creative professionals when editing high-resolution files. Plus, its support for 10-bit color depth and hardware calibration gives the monitor the level of color accuracy needed for professional-level video production work.

The LG UltraGear 27GN950 delivers a 1 millisecond Nano IPS display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, ensuring immersive picture gaming without sacrificing input lag and refresh rate. The new monitor also offers hardware calibration to maximize the ability of LG’s IPS technology to realize precise color reproduction. And with VESA DisplayHDR™ 600 certification, the UltraGear 27GN950 guarantees outstanding color, dynamic contrast, high luminance and a wide color gamut.

The new UltraGear monitor provides 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. It supports hardware calibration enabling LG’s proprietary Nano IPS display to offer the most precise color reproduction possible. NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and support for HDR ensures enhanced image quality with reduced screen tearing and minimized stutter that works seamlessly with VESA DSC for incredibly realistic gaming. However, it will require NVIDIA GeForce RTX 16/20 series, AMD Radeon RX 5500 or higher graphics card required for UHD 4K 10-bit at 144Hz with DSC.

Introduction Videos

With a four-side virtually borderless display, gamers can customize their station in seconds by raising, lowering, pivoting, and tilting the ergonomically designed stand. Additionally, with both Sound and Video Sync modes, the LG UltraGear 27GN950 uses RGB Sphere Lighting 2.0 to light up according to the dynamic sounds and visuals in the game. The 27GN950 will also be the first LG UltraGear monitor to feature the new “wings” emblem.
