Latest Ci Series Combines Legendary KEF Audio Performance with Practical Benefits for Business Environments; Meets Highest Specification Requirements for Commercial Interior Use

MARLBORO, N.J. — February 4, 2008 — KEF, renowned British manufacturer of audiophile-quality speakers, has announced its new range of high-performance speakers designed specifically for foreground music and music/paging applications in retail, commercial and hospitality environments — the Ci Commercial Series — are in stock and available for immediate shipment.

“The new Ci line has been specifically designed for the practical realities of architectural installation in commercial applications,” stated Alec Chanin, president of KEF America. “Coupled with a simple mounting system to ease the installation process, KEF’s Ci Commercial Series speakers set new standards of audio integrity in public spaces.”

With back-cans, selectable 8ohm/70V/100V multi-tap transformers for distributed line systems, UL2043 safety approval for use in air handling spaces and UL1480-5 for use in fire protection signaling systems, the all new KEF Ci Commercial Series speakers meet the highest specification requirements for commercial interior use.

The new Ci Commercial Series includes the following models:

Ci110FCT In-Ceiling Speaker
A full-bandwidth speaker with an ultra-low distortion motor driving a rigid 4″cone, the Ci110FCT generates a spacious, lucid and intricately detailed soundfield. Timbre-matched to the rest of the range, the Ci110FCT is suitable for all internal in-ceiling applications. With a mounting depth of only 4.25″ from the face of the mounting surface, the unusually low profile back can makes the Ci110FCT ideal for fitting into restricted ceiling cavities. KEF’s ingeniously simple mounting system makes it exceptionally easy to install. The Ci110FCT is supplied with a C-ring mounting bracket and tile hanger for use in suspended ceilings. Suggested retail: $120.00 each.

Ci115QCT In-Ceiling Speaker
Incorporating the latest incarnation of KEF’s signature technology, the patented Uni-Q ‘point-source’ driver configuration, the Ci115QCT disperses the soundfield more evenly and over a far wider area than is possible with conventional speakers. This provides far greater freedom of positioning, solving otherwise difficult speaker placement problems. The compact 4.5″ Uni-Q array produces an expansive, accurate and sumptuously detailed sound image out of all proportion to its modest size. Bezels and grilles can be finished to blend unobtrusively with any decor. The Ci115FCT also incorporates KEF’s ingeniously simple mounting system and is supplied with accessories for suspended ceiling applications. Suggested retail: $180.00 each.

Ci160QCT In-Ceiling Speaker
The top of the line Ci160QCT is built around the latest incarnation of KEF’s patented 6.5″ Uni-Q driver array. The Ci160QCT is ideal for applications where the finest sound quality is desired and, as with the Ci115QCT, it disperses the soundfield more evenly and over a far wider area than conventional speakers. The bezels and grilles can be finished to blend unobtrusively with the decor. The Ci160FCT incorporates KEF’s ingeniously simple mounting system and is supplied with a C-ring mounting bracket and tile hanger for use in suspended ceilings. Suggested retail: $240.00 each.

Ci160ST In-Ceiling Subwoofer
Reproducing lower frequencies with confident accuracy is critical for achieving a satisfyingly full-bodied sound in public spaces, and with the dedicated long-throw 6.5″ bass driver from KEF’s renowned iQ range, the Ci160ST in-ceiling subwoofer delivers gloriously extended, articulate and distortion-free bass. The tonal match is a perfect match with the entire line of the new Ci Commercial Series. As with all other speakers in the Ci Commercial series, the bezels and grilles can be finished to blend unobtrusively with the decor. The Ci160ST also incorporates KEF’s ingeniously simple mounting system and is supplied with accessories for suspended ceiling applications. Suggested retail: $200.00 each.
