HAI Demonstrates Combination Programmable Communicating Thermostat and In Home Display for Smartgrid Solutions

Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), leading manufacturer of integrated security and home automation products since 1985, announced the availability of the combination Omnistat2 Programmable Communicating Thermostat (PCT) and In Home Display (IHD).

HAI’s Omnistat2 PCT is a flexible product designed for use by utility companies for Home Area Network (HAN) use in Smart Grid programs. The unique design of the PCT allows it to be used as a thermostat and an In Home Display at the same time. It utilizes an easy to understand Multicolor Display that can change colors in response to utility related events. The PCT communicates with smart meters and can be used to display and control HAI’s other HAN products such as Load Control Modules (LCM) and can be controlled by the In Home Display (IHD)

“HAI is proud to offer so much value to our utility companies in one package. The Omnistat 2 is the first PCT on the market to act as a thermostat and an In Home Display (IHD) at the same time,” explains HAI Director of Business Development, Thomas Pickral, Jr. “Unique features like an easy to understand multicolor display and the ability to control Load Control Modules make the Omnistat2 really stand out from the competition.”

HAI offers a full suite of products that cover any type of Home Area Network application including In Home Displays, Load Control Modules, and Programmable Communicating Thermostats that are designed to use the ZigBee Smart Energy, Sensus FlexNet, and is expandable for additional technologies.
