Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Slate Tablet PC

Combines the Convenience and Accuracy of Both Touch and Pen Computing Without Compromising on Security or Battery Life

Fujitsu today announced the STYLISTIC Q550 slate PC, a professional-oriented product designed to help mobile field workers maximize their productivity. Featuring a bright 10.1-inch-wide viewing angle display, Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, removable quick-swap battery, and rock-solid security features like Smart Card and Trusted Platform Module (TPM), this slate PC enables mobile workers to get work done wherever they are.

Building on the Fujitsu 20-year heritage of designing and engineering tablet PCs for professional and business users, the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 slate PC incorporates security from the ground up, so that it meets the most stringent IT security requirements of governments and businesses. The Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 is developed to meet enterprise mobile computing demands and integrate seamlessly into existing IT infrastructures.

As enterprises struggle to keep consumer smartphones and tablets off their corporate networks to avoid security breaches, Fujitsu is taking an alternative approach with the introduction of a companion device designed for maximum interoperability with business environments. Seamless integration is provided thanks to the use of the Windows 7 operating system. Additional licensing and rollout costs are capped since the slate PC uses the same software already deployed in enterprise infrastructures.

The Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 tablet eases the mobile privacy concerns of even the most cautious CIOs. It incorporates a suite of security features including Fingerprint Sensor, integrated SmartCard reader slot, full disk encryption, and optional embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to protect against unauthorized access to the user's personal and business data.

Usability features also help set the Fujitsu slate PC apart from other mobile devices. The STYLISTIC Q550 is distinguished by elements such as a quick-swap battery for all-day computing and an exceptionally bright 10.1-inch LED backlit IPS display with wide-viewing angles — great for collaboration and for viewing in all types of working environments, including outdoors. Seamless connectivity comes through the inclusion of WLAN, Bluetooth and optional mobile broadband 3G (UMTS/EVDO), delivering uncompromised on-your-feet computing.

Along with excellent ergonomics, Fujitsu makes mobile data entry easier by combining multitouch interaction with precise and pressure-sensitive pen input. The STYLISTIC Q550 equips the workforce with the tools required to efficiently complete mission-critical tasks. Its combination of pen and multitouch raises computing interaction to greater levels of convenience and productivity.

Price and Availability (Update)
