French audio master, Focal, today announced its top-of-the-line 1000 Series of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers and subwoofer for custom installations. Three years in development, this new flagship range claims to raise in-wall speaker performance to new levels, thanks in part to use of Beryllium tweeters; ‘W’ cones – as featured on the Focal Utopia home speaker range.
The 1000 Series consists of three in-wall speakers, three in-ceiling speakers and an in-wall subwoofer. Focal says the 1000 Series offers the ultimate discreet alternative to traditional hi-fi and home cinema set-ups, with no performance compromise. All wall speakers feature adjustable drivers that can be angled towards the optimum listening position. Wall speakers can be paired with 1, 2, 4 or 6 subwoofers (while using only one channel of amplification), to match the room size and SPL levels desired. Speakon cables provided for simpler speaker/sub connectivity.
Focal’s 1000 Series has been designed with both the installer and end customer in mind. Existing Focal customers that have the 300 Series installed should know the 1000 Series uses the same form factor, allowing for an easy upgrade path. Meanwhile, Focal’s patented ‘Easy Quick Install’ system, allows for for tool-free integration. And current owners of Focal’s floorstanding and bookshelf sized loudspeakers can expect to be able to seamlessly blend the 1000 Series into walls or ceilings where appropriate.

Premium three-way in-wall speaker for high-end home cinema performance. Perfect for Left, Right, Centre or surround channel, the mids/tweeter section can tilt (+/-15°) to target the listening position. It can also be rotated 90° and used as a dedicated center-channel speaker. US pricing $2,699.

Premium two-way in-wall speaker for home cinema. Ideal for front or surround effects in smaller rooms. US pricing $1,799.
