Fall Focus: Making Media Meaningful features leading executives examining the changing landscape for digital content

Dallas, TX September 14, 2005– Parks Associates, leading analyst firm for “digital living” technologies, today announced the preliminary lineup of speakers for Fall Focus: Making Media Meaningful, to be held November 9-11, 2005, at the Fairmont San Jose.

Fall Focus, hosted by Parks Associates, will address the changing consumer habits that result from expanded Internet capabilities and the diffusion of digital entertainment products and their corollary services. The agenda features industry experts and executives from service providers, manufacturers, and developers making key advances in media and product personalization.

“This year’s event is focused on the changing landscape in the ‘digital living’ industries,” said Tricia Parks, president of Parks Associates. “Based on our latest primary research, consumers want their content personalized and available in different formats and through different platforms. There are many aspects to be considered, and the participants at Fall Focus will address the key business issues surrounding the consumer demand for these services and products.”

Parks Associates’ recent consumer research shows that a relatively large percentage of consumers are interested in enjoying music, video, and TV content on their mobile phones and also reveals that consumers are warming up to emerging television services:

• 10% of Internet users in the U.S. are interested in the ability to view pre-recorded video, video clips, or live TV on their mobile phones.
• 11% percent of Internet users in the U.S. are interested in the ability to download and play music files or listen to radio stations through their mobile phones.
• 46% of U.S. Internet consumers aged 13 and older are comfortable with viewer tracking and targeted advertising services if offered in conjunction with ad-skipping capabilities.
