Originally scheduled to ship in Q1 2008, the N800 is shipping in time for the holidays. Offering wireless Internet access and complete remote control of ELAN and third party supported manufacturer’s systems with user-friendly ease, the release of this ultra-slim, portable, handheld touch screen controller is in keeping with ELAN’s mission to develop and bring to market feature-rich new product platforms. The announcement was made by Bob Farinelli, ELAN’s President and Chief Technical Officer.
ELAN has been setting the standard for multi-room entertainment since 1989, providing state-of-the-art solutions for the enjoyment of music and video anywhere in the home. Now, with the N800 users gain reliable wireless, graphical control of all their entertainment, theater, and whole-house systems, plus direct access to the Internet over WiFi, in a sleek handheld package that makes it the ideal go-anywhere, do-anything controller for the entire family.
A seamless combination of advanced ELAN software engineering and the reliability of world-class hardware provider, Nokia, the N800 provides portable control of ELAN systems with 2-way, real-time feedback from most ELAN entertainment sources, including the Dual Tuner and Triple XM Satellite Receiver, as well as supported ELAN VIA! Integration Partner systems.
This new pocket-sized controller is compatible with all current ELAN Multi-Room Controllers and provides simplified control of electronic systems, including music, movies, lighting, temperature and security, in all system zones throughout the home. The N800 also features real-time status display for lighting, temperature and security systems as well as instant ‘Now Playing’ information from music sources, zoom, full-screen & panning functions, a full-screen finger keyboard, built-in stereo speakers, and more.
