Legendary Maker’s Limited Edition Cartridge Vibrantly Brings Recordings to Life with Unparalleled Accuracy and Warmth

Koetsu USA, the U.S. distribution arm of the world-renowned Japanese cartridge manufacturer, introduces into the U.S. market the Koetsu Coralstone Platinum Phono Cartridge, an exceptional example of the cartridge maker’s art, at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show, beginning here today.

The Coralstone Platinum Phono Cartridge by Koetsu is a limited edition product by a legendary company whose turntable cartridges set the gold standard for analog sound reproduction. It’s an exceptional achievement designed to enthrall vinyl enthusiasts with its uncanny naturalness and neutrality, bringing LPs to life with an accuracy and warmth that draws listeners closer to their music.

Like other Koetsu cartridges, the Coralstone Platinum is handmade by the company’s meticulous craftsmen. It showcases the best in recordings through a soundstage that’s wide, deep and tall, and so three-dimensional it leaves listeners feeling as if they are seated in a middle row of the orchestra section. The Coralstone Platinum delivers rich, vibrant musical performances that handle wide dynamic shifts and intimate moments with the same easy grace.

Weighing 12 grams, the cartridge’s oblong body is hand-carved from carefully selected pieces of rare petrified coral. The body houses 10 turns of silver-plated, hand-wound copper coil wire, a quadrahedron stylus, a platinum magnet, and a boron rod cantilever. Koetsu precisely grinds the Coralstone’s specially designed stylus.

The Koetsu Coralstone Platinum Phono Cartridge is available now at a suggested price of $15,000. It can be seen with other outstanding Koetsu and Koetsu USA products at Suite 29-235 at the Venetian Hotel, during CES.
