CodexNovus Takes Home Award from Electronic House Expo Spring 2006

Demo Alley’s Most Entertaining Presentation Win & Best Video Category Participation for HDcodex Media Server

CHAMPAIGN, IL _ April 4, 2006 _ CodexNovus, the leader in stand-alone and networked media player and server technologies, was among the winning team at this year’s EH Expo during the announcement of the “Best of Demo Alley” (BODA) Awards. Demo Alley Rm. 204A at the Electronic House Expo in Orlando, Florida, showcased the ultimate home theater experience with CodexNovus’ DML-200 networked media server powering the high definition presentation. Along with partners, Da-Lite, Halcro, James Loudspeakers and Vidikron, CodexNovus’ demonstration took home “Most Entertaining Presentation.”

“The most fun and eye opening part of EHX is Demo Alley,” explained Bob Archer, managing editor of CEPro Magazine. “The presentation smoked with great audio and video content that sounded and looked super.”

Demo Alley is a special section of EHX that’s dedicated to high-performance audio/video. At Room 204A, the HDcodex DML-200 networked media server delivered all of the high definition video content that viewers enjoyed. Designed to support large media libraries, the DML-200 offers unparalleled flexibility and configuration options for a wide range of files including video, audio, and digital pictures, all accessible from an easy-to-use interface. The DML-200 features state-of-the-art video playback of SD and HD digital video at resolutions of up to 1080p and delivers high resolution multi-channel 5.1 and 7.1 digital audio for a complete home cinema experience.

“We were very excited to have been voted ‘most entertaining presentation,'” stated Hugo Feugen, president of CodexNovus. “Our presentation showcased some of the hottest products available, and there’s no better way to demonstrate our technologies than in a live environment as Demo Alley presents.”

Partnering with CodexNovus, Vidikron delivered widescreen movies in 2.35:1 format via its Vision Model 100 CineWide equipped projector combined with a Da-Lite 51″x120″ Imager Fixed Wall Screen. James Loudspeakers’ Grand Concerto front, left, and right speakers, coupled with the 85SDX center channel, 83SDX rear surrounds, EMB 1500 audiophile woofer, and the Powerpipe 10″ hidden woofer, supplied the audio. Electronics were provided by Halcro via the SSP 100AV surround processor and preamplifier and the MC707 channel power amplifier.

In addition, the HDcodex DML-200 was also part of the BODA “Best Video Presentation.” At the joint Runco International and Stewart Filmscreen presentation in Demo Alley Room 202C, CodexNovus media server was used to deliver high definition video content playback for the demonstration.
