CasaTunes is designed to provide integrators and custom installers the capability to manage and control various Multiple Source Multiple Room AV controllers from Russound, Nuvo Technologies, and (coming soon) Xantech.
By installing one or more Barix Exstreamer devices with CasaTunes, integrators offer customers a high quality; seamlessly integrated, lower cost PC based music server solution for use with these AV controllers. By connecting one or more Barix Exstreamers as input sources to the AV controller, customers can select any music to play in any room and control these using their existing Russound UNO-S2 or Nuvo Technologies Concerto keypads.
Additionally, CasaTunes provides complete integration with iPod devices. To listen to music stored on an iPod device, users simply dock the device on the CasaTunes PC and are then able to select songs from the iPod device and control music playback using the same keypads above.
CasaTunes is compatible with both Apple iTunes and Microsoft Windows Media music libraries and can play all MP3 songs using the Barix Exstreamer device.
CasaTunes provides integrated AM/FM, XM and Sirius tuner support for Russound, Nuvo Technologies and (coming soon) Xantech tuners. Once configured, users can quickly view and select stations and presets, as well as learn and program presets.
CasaTunes leverages the Serial Port built into the Barix Exstreamer devices. The serial ports on these devices can be used to control an AV controller or tuner, greatly simplifying installation. Using this capability, installers can locate the Barix Exstreamer devices alongside the AV controller in the equipment room or rack, and install the CasaTunes software on any existing PC in the house, eliminating the need to dedicate a PC or to move a PC into the equipment closet. The built-in Setup Wizard ensures installers can configure CasaTunes in minutes.
