Carver Digital HTP 9.1 Dual-Zone Surround Sound Processor

Combines Latest Audio Decoders with Ease of Set-Up and Use

Carver Digital introduces the versatile new HTP 9.1 Home Theater Audio Video Processor at the International Consumer Electronics Show, beginning today in Las Vegas.

Designed for movie and music buffs alike, the HTP 9.1 Processor is ideal for use in Home Theaters and audio systems. It features a second-zone capability, video up-conversion circuitry for composite and S-video inputs, and Motorola’s precision Symphony-based digital audio technology, which is designed to support the latest generation of decoders, including those for 7.1-channel Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro-Logic II and Pro-Logic IIx, DTS, DTS-ES, and DTS Neo:6.

The processor’s versatility is indicated by numerous options, which include capability for a second audio zone that can play sources independent of the main zone, with separate trigger outputs and infrared inputs supplied for both zones. The on-screen display is logical, and easy to set up and use, and full-time digital down-mix is provided for two-channel tape recordings and digital outputs.

Additional operational flexibility is provided by music surround modes that convert stereo inputs into five-, six-, seven- or nine-channel audio; a two-channel analog bypass mode; the ability to rename all inputs and completely configure them for triggers, zone assignment, gain trim, maximum level, and the like.

Additional features include a digital bass manager with crossover frequencies of 40 to 160Hz, a precision 24-bit A-to-D converter, 24-bit/192kHz multi-bit D-to-A converters, DSP-based tone controls, an upgradeable Flash memory, and a programmed learning remote with a backlit LCD display.

An extensive connection package includes three sets of HD-compatible component video inputs with two buffered outputs; six A/V inputs, each with audio, S-video and composite video; and an eight-channel analog input with RCA connectors for DVD-A, SACD and other external multi-channel sources. The rear panel also includes balanced outputs for main 7.1 channels, digital S/PDIF audio outputs for two-channel digital down-mix from 5.1 sources, three audio inputs, three subwoofer outputs, and a moving-magnet phono input.

Carver Digital’s HTP 9.1 Home Theater Processor will be available in the Spring of 2005 at a suggested price of $3,495.
