First Ethernet-over-Coax Network Designed for Custom Integrators

ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 23, 2006 — Capitol Sales Company has expanded its network solutions by offering Coaxsys TVnet/C Pro products, which enable custom integrators to leverage a home’s existing RG6 or RG59 coaxial cable for both cable television and high-speed Ethernet. Coaxsys, a leading manufacturer of Internet protocol television (IPTV) and multimedia networking solutions, launched this new 100Mbps Ethernet-over-Coax networking solution in October 2005. The network is ideal for use in applications when wireless networking provides inadequate bandwidth or reliability; or when CAT-5 rewiring takes too long.

“We believe our custom integrators will find TVnet/C Pro a valuable and versatile retrofit solution as they design systems for their customers,” said Cheryl Johnson, Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing at Capitol Sales Company.

TVnet/C Pro can be used to connect home theatre components, media servers, DVRs, video game consoles and any other Ethernet device. It does not disrupt CATV signals and is compatible with both SD and HD video.

TVnet/C Pro functions through splitters over RG6 or RG59 coax and operates in any topology, including home-runs and daisy chains.

“We are excited to be working with Capitol Sales Company, an organization with nationwide reach and a reputation for excellent customer service,” said Matt Bossory, National Sales Manager at Coaxsys. “This relationship is a key element in our penetration strategy for the custom integrator market, where TVnet/C Pro has been broadly adopted as a retrofit solution that is faster to deploy than CAT-5 rewiring, and more secure and reliable than wireless.”
