New High-Profile Addition to Capable Networks’ Consumer Electronics Communities

Capable Networks LLC announces the acquisition of TiVoCommunity.com — the groundbreaking online community for users of TiVo digital video recorders (DVRs).

“TiVoCommunity.com is one of the Internet’s most popular and mature consumer electronics online communities,” said Ron Repking, CEO of Capable Networks. “This acquisition adds over 4 million more new pageviews and 1 million new unique visitors each month to our company’s growing audience base.”

Last month, Capable Networks announced the launch of three new online communities focused on products from NETGEAR, Monster Cable and SanDisk. Now, with the further addition of TiVoCommunity to their network, Capable Networks owns and operates 9 user communities. Each of these communities attracts, entertains and informs users of consumer electronics, while providing corporations with dynamic ways to interact with and leverage a highly-motivated section of their product’s fan base.

TiVoCommunity will now also become part of Capable’s Home Technology Network. This is one of the world’s largest independent consumer electronics advertising networks, currently attracting over 70 million pageviews per month and 20 million unique visitors. The Home Technology Network provides advertisers with access to these audiences by bringing together top online consumer electronics communities, including AVSForum.com, eCoustics.com, RemoteCentral.com and HomeTheaterForum.com.

David Bott, the founder of TiVoCommunity, said that he is looking forward to working closely with Capable Networks on TiVoCommunity and other related projects.

“I am enthusiastic about the creativity and professionalism that Capable Networks brings to their network,” Bott said. “Capable is an excellent organization to continue the work of TivoCommunity; they will serve the site’s dedicated membership well.”

Capable Networks plans to maintain the current, successful format of TiVoCommunity, even while planning a few specific improvements to the website.
