Boston Acoustics Now Shipping S Series Value-Driven Performance Speaker Systems

Component and Coaxial Models For Easy, Efficient Drop-In Installation Options

Peabody, MA–May 2005–Boston Acoustics, Inc. (NASDAQ: BOSA), a premier manufacturer of high performance audio solutions for use in home music and audio-video systems, aftermarket and OEM automotive systems, and custom built-in audio systems, announces that the S Series Car Audio Speaker Systems are now shipping.

The new S Series, comprised of 11 models including two component and nine coaxial configurations, replaces Boston Acoustics’ FS and FX Series models. Designed to complement factory system upgrades as well as pair with any Boston speaker system, the S models have high sound quality, high efficiency and high ease of installation. Thanks to their convenient OEM-sized chassis, the installer-friendly S Series are also designed to fit a wide array of vehicles, making installation pain-free. In addition, the compact size of S Series models reduces installation clearances and minimizes problems with window regulators and trunk torque rods.

The S Series feature a Type S3 tweeter–3/4-inch soft dome Ferrofluid-cooled for excellent power handling and reliability–offering a level of detail not commonly found at this price point. Neodymium tweeter magnets provide an extraordinary power-to-size performance, sharing the same high-grade material found all Boston tweeters, regardless of price. Coaxial models include the AMD (Amplitude Modification Device) located on the tweeter plane providing acoustical tuning for midrange response and improved off-axis response delivering smooth extension. The S60 and S50 component systems, feature surface- and angle-mount options for the low-profile tweeter allowing easy installation in tight-fitting OEM locations.

All S Series woofers feature a copolymer cone and durable butyl rubber surround to provide the strongest defense against the harshest automotive environments. Always striving to produce and deliver the greatest sound, Boston Acoustics matches each S model with a specifically tuned crossover to deliver the best transition between woofer and tweeter. The S60 and S50 feature a unique, patent-pending crossover design that can separate and dock, providing flexibility for tight installations.

All S Series speakers deliver The Boston Sound–pure, natural, and true to the original. The Boston Sound is renowned for its smooth octave-to-octave tonal balance, from the deepest bass to the highest treble. All Boston Acoustics systems present highs, mids and lows in perfect balance. It is the same consistent voice you hear no matter which Boston speakers you are listening to.
