Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 100 Wireless: Fewer Features, Cooler Looks, Still All Business

Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 100 wireless headphones offer retro style, German-engineered sound, ANC, and travel-friendly features at a competitive price in 2025.

Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 100 Wireless Headphones Lifestyle

The wireless headphone market in 2025 is an 800-pound gorilla with ANC. Every brand from Apple to Anker is cranking out cans, and most of them blend together like reheated leftovers. Beyerdynamic—recently acquired and clearly looking to shake things up—isn’t pretending to reinvent the wheel with the new AVENTHO 100. What they are doing is dialing in retro looks, practical features, and just enough German engineering to stand out in a painfully crowded field. It’s not the flagship AVENTHO 300, and that’s fine. If you focus on style, sound, and simplicity—and deliver what people actually want for travel and daily use—that’s a win.

What’s Inside the Beyerdynamic AVENTHO 100: Features, Drivers, and Noise-Cancelling Tech

Styling might get your attention, but with audio gear, it’s what’s under the hood that separates the serious from the forgettable. The AVENTHO 100 doesn’t just play dress-up—it comes equipped with 45mm dynamic drivers, developed in Germany (because of course they are), tuned to deliver a clean, balanced soundstage with satisfying low-end, clear mids, and detailed highs. No bloated bass. No fake sparkle. Just solid, precise sound.

Backing that up is Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) to keep the outside chaos where it belongs, and Qualcomm cVc tech for calls that don’t sound like you’re trapped inside a wind tunnel. Whether you’re dodging crowds at the airport or tuning out office drama, the AVENTHO 100 gets the job done with typical Teutonic efficiency—no unnecessary fluff, just function.

Comfort & Connectivity

The AVENTHO 100 doesn’t just look like it belongs in the Lufthansa business lounge—it’s built for long hauls too. Plush, replaceable ear pads and a lightweight, foldable design keep things comfortable on your head and compact in your bag. It’s clearly designed for real-world use, not just TikTok unboxings.

On the connectivity front, it’s got the basics covered—and then some. Bluetooth with Multipoint means you can jump between your phone and laptop without playing musical chairs with your pairing settings. On-ear controls handle calls and playback without delay, keeping things smooth whether you’re tuning in or dialing out. And yes, wired playback via 3.5mm AUX is still an option—because not everyone wants to gamble on battery life when the cabin pressure drops.

Speaking of battery, you’re getting up to 60 hours of playback, or 40 with ANC turned on. Not bad. And if you forget to charge them before a flight, a 15-minute top-up gives you another 15 hours—enough to make it from JFK to Frankfurt without begging the flight attendant for a charging cable.

Control

The AVENTHO 100 keeps onboard controls minimal—just enough to handle calls and playback without turning your earcup into a NASA console. For everything else, there’s the MIY App, which offers access to adjustable ANCfirmware updates, and personalization tools to tweak your listening experience. It’s not overloaded with gimmicks, just functional features that actually improve performance. The app’s clean layout and German efficiency keep things simple—because when you’re trying to catch a flight or tune out office noise, the last thing you need is a UX puzzle.

From Andreas Rapp, CEO of beyerdynamic: “AVENTHO 100 reflects our continued commitment to craftsmanship, comfort, cutting-edge sound,…..We set out to create a headphone that nods to classic design while delivering the performance and features today’s listeners expect – style, sound quality, and everyday versatility.”

The Bottom Line

The AVENTHO 100 is a curious but strategic addition to Beyerdynamic’s lineup—essentially a stripped-down version of the AVENTHO 300 with fewer bells and whistles but a more affordable price tag. You don’t get the Stellar 45 drivers, Dolby Atmos, or head tracking, but you do get German-tuned 45mm drivers, solid ANC, long battery life, and a clean retro aesthetic that sets it apart from the plastic crowd. At around $100 less than the 300, it offers a decent value proposition—especially if you care more about classic looks and comfort than spatial audio trickery.

That said, the wireless headphone market isn’t exactly short on competition. For the same price or less, you can find models with spatial audio and head tracking from Sony and Yamaha, or even go fully open-ear with Cleer Audio’s ARC 3. And if you’re gaming, Beyerdynamic’s own MMX 200 Wireless may actually be the smarter buy. The AVENTHO 100 isn’t aiming to be everything—but if you want something simple, stylish, and well-built that nails the fundamentals, it’s worth a look.
