Music that sounds right
Being a core competence of Bang & Olufsen, it comes natural for us to put emphasis on the acoustic performance of a music player. BeoSound 6 is based on a robust Samsung platform with specific acoustic refinements such as the high performance on signal-to-noise. This means that the annoying noise known from many digital music players is almost absent in BeoSound 6. Instead, every musical detail is audible. It is also of key concern to us that we reproduce the sound as neutrally and naturally as possible.

The bass boost function in BeoSound 6 used for the enhancement of bass reproduction has been optimised to the Bang & Olufsen Earphones that come with it. The dynamic full-tone loudspeakers mounted on a telescopic bar are constructed according to the open loudspeaker principle that allows you to hear a non-intrusive amount of the surrounding sound at lower volume levels. So, you are not entirely cut off from the surrounding world when wearing the Earphones.

Magically matching your ear
The sound quality is affected by the placement of the Earphones in the ear, which is why we enclose small foam rubber covers to make the Earphones more comfortable and to compensate for the leak that might occur in situations where the user’s ear is significantly bigger than the Earphone.

Designed from very light materials such as rubber and aluminium, the Earphones weigh only 8 g, and offer an elegant mechanical design that ensures a precise individual adjustment to the ear. Consequently, the physical presence of the Earphones is almost forgotten and only the high-quality sound remains. The Earphones do not easily fall off and can be used together with glasses, making them perfect for active use on the move.

Let’s help you get organized
Bang & Olufsen has developed a simple and free software solution, BeoPlayer, which accesses and organises all music files on the PC, and conveniently transfers them to your BeoSound 6. You can download MP3 and WMA music files instantly, and convert AAC files with BeoPlayer. As there is room for more than 1,000 songs on your BeoSound 6, you can be sure to have your favourite music available at all times.

Simple and elegant design
BeoSound 6 offers an almost minimalistic design where the front and rear sides are surrounded by a stainless steel frame. The rear side features a black soft-touch lacquered surface whereas the front side has a black LCD display with a simple graphical user interface and a keypad placed underneath the display. The rectangular touchpad is used for menu navigation and the surrounding keypad, made of black silicone rubber, is primarily for playback functions.

When you switch on the music player, you are offered an overview of five user scenarios, accessible with the touch of a button. The five scenarios make it possible to start immediate playback of the tracks downloaded to the music player, or sort the personal music collection by artist, album, genre and play list. While playing music, the user can choose between having the cover art of the specific album displayed alone or with music tags.

The user experience is further enhanced by the extended battery life, allowing up to 40 hours of playback – more than twice the market standard for battery life. The user can always follow the battery status, as the navigation bar indicates with a colour change when the battery needs to be charged.
