ASUS introduced the 27-inch VG278H LED 120Hz LCD 3D display with support for the recently announced NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 glasses, as well as NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology, which improves the 3D experience by delivering up to 2X brighter 3D screen images and better color quality than existing display technologies. The 2ms (gray-to-gray) response time and 120Hz refresh rate ensure crystal-clear 3D visuals. The VG278H is also ergonomically-designed and allows for swivel, tilt angle, and height adjustments. It also comes with a built-in, angle-adjustable 3D Vision emitter to cater to the user's preferred viewing position.

NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology doubles the 3D image brightness without increasing energy consumption; while the redesigned 3D Vision 2 glasses features a 20-percent larger viewing lens, a light-blocking visor for comfortable viewing and a more comfortable, gamer-inspired design. The VG278H allows 3D viewing of an array of entertainment options including web-based video streams, Blu-ray movies, and over 550 popular game titles. The built-in, angle-adjustable 3D Vision emitter can be aimed directly at the shutter glasses for optimized signal reception while three 3D Infrared modes (Normal / CE Compatible / LAN party) help eliminate infrared interference from surrounding electronic devices.

Trace-Free II Technology combines 120Hz refresh rates and 2ms response time to double the frames per second, resulting in vivid, ultra-smooth visuals. The VG278H also has Advanced Dual-side LCD Driving Technology that reduces LCD charging times to prevent ghosting and brightline effects to ensure clear 3D visuals during gaming or video playback.

The VG278H can be optimized with Photoshop's Gamma adjustment to create the ideal color presentations for the six most common scenarios (Theater, Night View, Scenery, Gaming, sRGB, and Standard Modes). The fully adjustable stand provides swivel, tilt, and height adjustment to give the most comfortable viewing position. The VG278H also supports a wealth of 3D sources, in addition to PC connectivity via dual-link DVI-D and D-sub, Blu-ray disc-based movies and game consoles can be connected to the VG278H through the HDMI 1.4 port.

NVIDIA 3D LightBoost is a new NVIDIA display technology that delivers up to 2X brighter 3D images than existing 3D solutions and improved color quality. It also dramatically increases environmental lighting, making gaming keyboards and mice more visible, and reducing 3D ghosting.

Price and Availability
The ASUS VG278H includes NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 glasses, will be available by the end of October 2011 for $699.
