AMIMON Ships Its 100,000th Wireless High-definition Chipset

AMIMON Makes Wireless HDTV a Reality in Consumers’ Homes

Santa Clara, Calif. — December 9, 2008 — AMIMON Inc., the leader in semiconductor technology for wireless high-definition (HD) video, today announced that it has hit a major milestone with the shipment of its 100,000th wireless HDTV chipset. AMIMON continues to advance toward making its goal of whole-home wireless HD video connectivity a reality.

AMIMON is the only provider of wireless uncompressed HDTV semiconductor solutions that is shipping in volume chipsets that are included in products currently sold to consumers.

AMIMON’s chipsets have been embedded into multiple products shipping in the United States, Europe and Japan. Consumer electronics applications that are currently shipping with AMIMON’s chipset include:

• Super-thin LCD TVs by leading TV OEMs that are embedded with the AMIMON chipset, wirelessly connecting the panel to a separate connector box that can be placed anywhere in the room and throughout the home.
• Wireless HDTV link video accessories (“dongles”) that convert legacy HDTVs into wireless HDTVs.

In addition to consumer electronics applications, the high quality, robustness and low latency of AMIMON’s solution have lead manufacturers in the commercial, professional and medical industries to adopt AMIMON’s technology. Example applications include:

• Wireless link for professional AV cameras in HD broadcast applications.
• Wireless link for medical imaging applications.
• Wireless link for high-end commercial projector systems.

“AMIMON’s technology is the de-facto technology of choice for wireless HDTV,” said Noam Geri, AMIMON’s vice president of marketing and business development. “The 100,000 chipsets shipped serve as the best reference for the superiority of AMIMON’s solution.”

AMIMON’s video-modem technology applies a smart algorithm that is best suited for the needs of quality-conscious consumers. While other wireless technologies struggle to deliver every single bit of video information using a rigid data modem, resulting in an unstable link that would lead to consumer frustration due to complete loss of the video link, AMIMON’s video-modem is utilizing a radically different approach. By allowing the system to ignore errors of bits with virtually no visual significance, systems with AMIMON’s WHDI technology achieve extreme robustness, enabling the consumer to enjoy interruption-free high-quality video throughout the home.

“The promise of robust wireless solutions aimed at delivering high-quality video streams will only be made real by the adoption by consumer electronics companies, so it is very encouraging to finally see a wireless HDTV technology delivering on its promise,” said Kurt Scherf, vice president and principal analyst for Parks Associates. “The 100K chipset milestone represents a turning point for the industry and a major achievement for AMIMON as it continues to drive WHDI as the standard for wireless HDTV.”

AMIMON’s wireless technology will be on display at the upcoming 2009 International CES show, which runs January 8-11 in Las Vegas. Demonstrations based on AMIMON’s technology can be viewed at various locations in the Las Vegas Convention Center as well as at AMIMON’s suite, No. 23121, at the Las Vegas Hilton.
