Adoption of Neural-THX Surround Increases Amoung Major Consumer Electronics Manufacturers

KIRKLAND, Wash., September 5, 2007 — Neural Audio Corporation and THX Ltd. have seen their Neural-THX Surround technology gain worldwide acceptance over the past year, now being integrated in an estimated 70 percent of new audio-video receivers, from companies such as Sony, Pioneer, Yamaha, Onkyo, Integra, Denon and Marantz.

“Neural-THX Surround has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the CE community, broadcasters, game developers and other content creators,” said Robert Hewitt, vice president of sales at THX. “It is with Neural-THX Surround technology that our CE partners are enabling their customers to experience truly engaging sonic presentations of their favorite surround sound content through both traditional and new distribution mediums.”

In addition to the home receiver launch in January of 2006, Neural-THX Surround is a leader in surround radio broadcast through XM Radio, The Classical Radio Network (CPRN) as well as a number of commercial broadcasters across the United States. Neural-THX technology has also been adopted by over 150 TV stations in four countries, including affiliates of all the major US TV networks such as ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC.

“Rapid adoption of a new audio technology only happens when it provides a significant improvement in the way consumers experience entertainment,” said Geir R. Skaaden, Neural Audio CEO. “The Neural-THX Surround technology provides that leap in the way consumers can now experience surround entertainment at home or in their cars. The alliance created by Neural Audio, THX, content providers and entertainment system manufacturers allows Neural-THX Surround to bring surround sound entertainment to the next level.”

Neural-THX Surround enables a bit rate-efficient and stereo-compatible representation of multi-channel audio. The technology accommodates the transmission of surround sound, even for applications with analog mixing constraints, audio compression and limited bandwidth such as digital audio, video broadcasting and Internet streaming.
