Trinnov Trailers—For Home Theaters That Think They’re Ready (Spoiler: Are They?)

Trinnov has produced its own series of trailers and clips that demonstrate the limits of home and commercial theater installations.

Trinnov Trailer Le Son

One of the few bright spots at any A/V trade show is the barrage of video and audio clips blasting from every corner—those trailers and demo reels designed to flex the latest sound and picture tech. Most booths play the usual recycled movie scenes everyone’s seen a hundred times, but the smart audio brands step up and make their own trailers. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill Hollywood snippets—they’re custom-made showcases built to push your home theater setup to its limits, or at least make it feel like it’s finally worth the space it takes up.

For the past five years Trinnov has been creating unique clips for home theater fanatics and movie/music lovers. The company’s intent is not only to showcase how good immersive sound can be, but also to push the limits of surround mixing and bass reproduction.

Trinnov didn’t just stop at making impressive trailers—they wanted to give creative visual artists and sound designers a chance to push boundaries alongside them. So they pulled in some of their sharpest collaborators to take these demos even further, building on a legacy of trailers that don’t just show off tech, but test it in real-world conditions.

These self-produced Trinnov trailers now play in commercial cinemas, high-end showrooms, and trade shows around the globe. They’re a no-BS demo of what an immersive sound system can really do—and a handy way to spot any weak spots in your room or speakers. And here’s the kicker: these aren’t just trade show exclusives. Anyone can use them to evaluate their setup—or just kick back and enjoy a killer theater night with friends and family.

The Trailers

Here is a summary of the trailers that Trinnov has made available so far. YouTube Previews can be played for some. The trailers were produced and directed by Benoit Munoz for Trinnov.

Experience: This trailer showcases the audio possibilities offered by the immersive DTS:X Pro surround sound format and was made in collaboration with Xperi (the parent company of DTS). Trinnov was the first to implement and demonstrate it publicly at ISE 2020. The high point of this clip is the monstrous bass drop.

Arrival: This is a short trailer made in collaboration with French visual artist Brieuc Le Floc’h. It was produced to be an ode to Trinnov’s calibration microphone and controlled bass frequencies.

Rows of Rows: The clips in the series are designed to transport viewers on an intense, brief visual “psychedelic” journey. Mixing concrete sounds and music, this clip utilizes all available speakers in any immersive setup.

Les Dieux: Produced in partnership with Italian composer and visual artist Lucio Arese, this short video features the artist’s most famous work to date. Expect bass-heavy sound design, to showcase the power of Trinnov’s WaveForming, pushing subwoofers to the limit.

Music Machines: Made in collaboration with composer and builder of electromechanical music machines, Koka Nikoladze, this series of clips showcases the interplay of sound, objects, and performance.

Le Repeater: Inspired by Max Cooper and Christopher Nolan, this trailer takes viewers on a visual, introspective journey through a serial composition that will push the limits of a video projector and loudspeakers.

Rings: An epic poetic vision of Saturn and its rings using images from American video artist Nick Colombini. Have you ever seen a planet dancing to a rave track?

La Basse: This trailer was made specifically to coincide with the release of WaveForming, pushing the boundaries of low-frequency reproduction from subwoofers. It will not only push subwoofers, but unleash surround speakers to provide a whole room immersive surround sound experience.

Anomaly: German videographer Jacco Kliesch, using Iceland’s unique natural characteristics, uses music to take viewers and listeners on a surreal journey through the music of Czech bass music producer Rido, famous for his Let it Roll and Signal video festival performances.

Le Son: This trailer incorporates all fourteen cuts into one and uses only sound design to do so. The result is earth-shattering low-frequency impacts as well as spatial effects, making full use of all speaker layouts.

Pro Tip: For those that own a Kaleidescape System, select Trinnov Trailers are available for viewing from the Kaleidescape Store

Specs only tell half the story—your ears and eyes do the real judging. Trinnov’s carefully crafted trailers are designed to push your home theater hard, exposing both strengths and flaws. After five years and serious investment, these 14 original clips give enthusiasts the tools they need to fine-tune every speaker, dial in that subwoofer, and get the immersive sound experience their gear was built for. If you care about your setup sounding as good as it looks on paper, these trailers aren’t just useful—they’re essential.

These trailers and clips are available through Trinnov and Kaleidescape, and you can also preview them through YouTube. Take a look and listen, and see your system faires.
