Criterion Collection Film Sale: 50% Off at Barnes & Noble

It is that that time of year again. The Criterion Collection film sale at Barnes & Noble with over 1,000 films half off.

Criterion Collection Movies

We’re massive fans of this company and the summer Criterion Collection film sale is back at Barnes & Noble. Criterion Collection does a superb job on their restorations (my collection started in 1989 in college with my first Criterion laser disc and I’m over 350 movies at this point) which are scattered across almost every genre of cinema.

The Criterion Collection keep pumping out award-winning films on Blu-ray and it’s having a negative impact on our bank accounts. Fast Times at Ridgemont High was one of our favorite films from the 1980s as it perfectly captured our high school experience (some more than others) and it always needed some form of restoration.

Merrily We Go to Hell is a rather harsh and unpleasant look at marriage that might not be the best film to watch with your spouse if the past 17 months of COVID-19 lockdowns were not kind to your marriage. It’s a hard hitting film that was way ahead of its time.

Their Blu-ray titles sell out very quickly so it’s best to jump on the pre-orders when they are announced. Criterion titles are also not inexpensive, so the 50% off sales are a huge value to movie fans. The Criterion Collection film sale is one of the best opportunities to add classic films to your collection at a huge discount.

There are over 1,000 films to choose from, including new editions of:

Summer is here and so is the sale! Starting today, all Criterion Blu-rays and DVDs are half off at Barnes & Noble, both online and in stores, through August 1.
