Digital Cable and DVD woes

Anonymous
I've got a DVD player (Samsung HT-DB600), with a Motorola DCT2000 Digital Cable box, and a crappy old TV with only S-Video/Composite or RF Coax connections.

The DVD player, which also provides audio via 5.1 speaker setup, has a direct Aux audio connection to the TV, and a direct composite (didnt have an S-Video cable so I gotta get that soon) from the Video out to the Video in on the TV. The Digital Cable box uses the RF Coax for supply video/audio to the TV.

Now while all works fine, in order to watch DVDs, I have to manually change the TV to Video 1 mode, and back if I want to watch cable again. Is there anyway through perhaps a different cable connection setup, or additional components (i.e. RF Modulator, A/B autoswitch) that I can make this automatically happen, i.e. when I want to watch a DVD, the TV will automatically switch to Video 1?
