Question about NAD T512 DVD/CD

Marc
I'm looking to pick up the NAD 752 and T512 combo from saturdayaudio.com but had a question about the DVD player. I was wondering if anyone knew for CD playback if the cd/dvd player adds a slight pause between tracks due to its buffer. I listen to a lot of live concert recordings where bands segue from one song to another without a break; therefore I would need a seperate CD player if there is a delay in playback. I went to my local dealer to check it out, but unfortunately he was out of stock. Any info would be appreciated.

the delay in playback is the reciever deciding what signal is being sent.the way to avoid this is to use analog interconnects

But there is no delay between tracks when the receiver has settled down and chosen its format. The delay is caused by the receiver waiting and deciding which format to choose, so it is only on the first track you selected. And then, you are right, mel, even that small delay disappears if you use the analogue output.

Marc,

....But if you went ahead and bought the T752/ T 512 combo, you may get better sound from the digital connection, because then you are using the superior D-to-A converters in the receiver. With a T532 player, there would be no difference, I think.
