Hi Nalin, how are you?
Obviously the good old days are over? We sure had lots of fun back then
- What's the best PTA receiver in your opinion?
- What's a good trustable Private IKS?
- Which site provide bins and guides etc.?
- How things work now days?
- Is Captive works a good receiver I have 2 of them

I have to admit I'm a total newbie you seemed to hang in there
I don't see any of the old pals, all gone
anyway I don't care about international channels only American BEV or DN

I'm off this summer and ready to play with satellites
Is there anything good worth a shot?

Hello, King. Glad to hear from you.

"Hi Nalin, how are you?"
I am quite well.
"Obviously the good old days are over? We sure had lots of fun back then
- What's the best PTA receiver in your opinion?"
No breakthrough on N3. So I guess we can say there is not one likely. There is nothing special about any PTA receiver. One could recommend Public server dependent PTA, but the public servers are doing really badly indeed.
"- Which site provide bins and guides etc.?

Satfix.net and ftabeta.com are reliable and usually current. abdss is good for information, but had a bit of problem with the big enemy..

If you have captiveworks 700 or 800, you can be viewing some DN channels (no bev) on Private IKS. Private IKS is the only story in town now. You pay anything from $35/year to $250 per year.. I would recommend you stay at the low end of things. because none of the IKS services is very stable.
Find sada on this forum, and send a PM to him, and he will give you more details. You can expect about 50% uptime with NFPS IKS service that many people recommend. Stay away from any large payment per year services. If you want a little better uptime, you might want to try something else that is $20-35 per month. However, right now I can't find anything better or more reliable than the NFPS.

Thank you Nalin
Are you saying BEV is not available on any IKS? or just not available on CW800?
What's NFPS? Keep in mind I missed 3 years. you can say I'm a total noob
What's 50% ? up one hour and down the other? or up a day and down a night?

BEV is not available anywhere.
50% - Up two-five days, down two-five days etc.
Some channels drop off for a few hours.

You guys are idiots.Nanosat is up on public only on DN and Sonicview is up on public as well but does have a cost and a reasonable cost for 2 yrs support and does have DN & Bev up so Nalin & Sada you can stop your lies about the support for all receivers. Obviously you don't know what you are talking about when it comes to the support for iks. Sada only supports the NFPS private server which is not to bad but you do not need to lie about any public servers been up just to support your own pocketbook. Now you two should go do some reading before giving the false info you are.

Welcome back King
Take a look at these URL's for channels available for various receivers on public servers and channels available on various private servers
Public server channels
Sonic view is not really public - have to pay for 2 years though listed under public
Private server channels

Welcome King
Corrected the second link by editing, usually they support the receivers for a year or two and disappear on public servers. Conaxsat duo etc disappeared on public first they called it Conaxsat premium then changed it to nanosat.

Nanosat came out in January and they are the latest among the receivers that have channels available on public server, so they may last for another year and half on public server before they run away and reappear with a different name.

In nanosat you can easily change between public and private. For private service you can have NFPS which costs around $35 per year,

welcome back King... it's nice to see you again.... the old days of "PTA"'aka FTA are gone. your predictions came through.... (thanks for the warnings BTW) good job!

now it's new receivers that need to be hooked up to the INTERNET to update your stuff.plus pay a server (public or privet) to obtain the "fix"..

so much for FREE TV.... Here in Canada we can still get analog but not for much longer , a few months if that . then bunny ears and the good old antenna days are gone.

But it was a good 15 yrs of fun for me and i am sure others here as well. hacking DTV and bev ,echcostar(dish-net) etc...was all very interesting to learn .It was a great hobby.

OH SIGH...... now it's a new world of new technology and i myself am getting to old to care to learn it all. So i pay now for what i watch. It's safer this way.LOL but 15 years of free TV wasn't bad. ( no complaints here)

Again this is my expressed opinion

I always said IKS is the worst PTA
It does indead brings a smoking gun with reasonable doubt to get a warrent for arrest

I don't know if that report is real or not
But common sense tells me
Yo abreach their security the'll strike back

IKS
They can get a trace back to yor house via IP address and since yor internet is either by cable or by phone leaving trils back to yor front door with hard evidence

If yo already own an IKS
I strongly advice yo load bins the regular way
At least yo'll have more rights
