a group of 4 split dtv account. one receiver was not used for a while. after installing i have 92% signal, test shows card and receiver o.k channel guide comes up but no channels work. can't phone dtv for help. system is in canada. paid by credit card monthly. is there any way to get this thing going ??

you need to point your Dish to the same bird as
the account holder is pointed to.

took my receiver to his house and hooked up to his dish. Same problem.if i leave receiver on will it upgrade at some point from direct ??

LK: comfortguy has a genuine problem and we have tried t help him with different suggestions. Th post you are looking at is dated 8th April, 2011. So if you don't have anything constructive to offer, stay out of it.
