I have an older television so I bougt a modulator when I purchased a DVD player. I have everything hooked up (tv, cable, vcr, modulator, dvd, stereo) and get DVD picture but the sound is from my digital cable. We run everything through the vcr. What am I doing wrong or what else do I need to do to get the sound as well as the picture?

Stacey, If your surround reciever has a video output(ex. composite or s video) it may be possible for you to plug all of your gear in to the reciever and run a single video cable from your modulator to the reciever, the rest of the gear can be plugged into (ex. dvd input, cable or dbs input, and vcr input). I would need to know exactly what gear you own. L8R
