CNX Nano2 -> iLINK IR220 -> CNX nano2 conversion procedure using USB drive.
Description: Method described below allows cross brand conversion of the clone IRUMTEK receivers units known as CNX NANO2 and iLINK IR220. They all share same hardware platform, and have same specifications: CPU architecture: ARM9, Conexant CX24303 CPU ID: 0x10946027 (for JTAG development) RAM: 32MB FLASH memory: 2MB, TSOP packaging.
New (virgin) or used (upgraded to public IKS) units can be converted.
Purpose of the conversion:
CNX branded receivers do not support private IKS. Following procedure allows flashing firmware to a private IKS compatible firmware.
Note: conversion may damage your IRD, change its functions, and you may lose ability to convert it back to your original brand. We have no responsibility whatsoever and not liable for any damages this guide or actions done while using this guide may cause. The purpose of this guide is only a proof of concept that cross brand conversion is possible.
Side effect of conversion to ilink: - Remote control issues: coloured buttons shifted to the second row from the bottom. --EPG button moved to blue button --Info button moved to red button Possible upgrade issues related to a loader incompatibility.
Cross flash procedure overview:
NANO2 to ilink
Prerequisites: - You must have NPN1.29 FW installed.
Process flow:
1. Reset to factory defaults. 2. Upgrade receiver using the following file through USB stick: NANO2_TO_ILINK.NPN . Use "S/W Upgrade" option on upgrade screen. 3. Reset to factory defaults. 4. Upgrade receiver using the following file through USB stick: IR2x0_2.84.ups . Use "S/W Upgrade" option on upgrade screen. 5. Reset to factory defaults. You now have 2.84 ilink BIN installed. It is good to go. 6. Follow guide by richiemiami:
----------------richiemiami BEGIN-------------------- then do a factory reset (this is very important, the first time I tried doing this it didn't work and it was due to this step so do it!)
then go into your network tab then net applications the default setting is EPCS which is ilink's public server Change the EPCS to Dream once you do that you should set the settings like the picture that I will post Mind you this is for use with the IKSprivate@erver so if you use another you will use a different domain name and server port #
In the "Authorization" area you will input your user ID and password which on the iksprivates@rver is the same
also input the des key which is also input into the des area GO to main menu -> accessory (last menu on the right) -> key works and turn EMU OFF. Very important step !
now if you exit your settings will stay how you put them so at this time exit and then re enter to make sure all your settings are correct
after so go back into network and into IP Setup for after doing the factory default the IP Setup area goes to "not used" so turn it back to "auto" or "manual" or whatever you used before
the last step is scanning your satellites
after doing so simply press exit and watch tv
Notice on the bottom right you now have "connection: 1" referring to the number connection in dream private server area ---------------richiemiami END----------------------
ilink back to NANO2 Prerequisites: - You must have ilink 2.84 bin installed (as per guide above)
1. Reset to factory defaults. 2. Upgrade receiver using the following file through USB stick: ILINK_TO_NANO2.ups. Use "S/W Upgrade" option on upgrade screen. 3. Reset to factory defaults. 4. Upgrade receiver using the following file through USB stick: NPN_1.29.NPN . Use "S/W Upgrade" option on upgrade screen. 5. Reset to factory defaults. You are back to NANO2 NPN 1.29 .

Sada, I have already done port changes to DM100 and already watching all the channels...my questions was, can I put the same info as of DM100 into converted nano2 and watch channels on both the receivers? just so that I have all the channels in my other room in addition to DM100..
Hi sada I tested nano 2 by converting it however there is a lots of freezing. I switched back to dm100 and it's working without any freeze.have you noticed it?
Anik F3 (118.8W ) LNB type standard or single LNB Freq 10750 or 10600 DiseqC setting as appropriate Also possible to set LNB type to Universal and LNB freq 9750-10750
Echo 14 (119W ) LNB type standard or single LNB Freq 11250 DiseqC setting same as for ANK F3
Hey sada I converted nano2 but when I make a fav list, most of the channel names changes them selves. And when I try to rename the name of those channels, it say channel name cannot be changed. Any suggestions?

Wakenbake: When you bought the last DVD from the DVD store how DID YOU KNOW that it was a legal copy? I personally think it was an illegal copy and you will be fined.
i have sucessfully converted nano2 to ilink and i can watch all the channels on 118 but i cant watch any 119 channels the signal is good but they dont work, can somone help
damindar: Without any changes, was 119 working and now not working? If changes were made, what changes did you make? In any case post your settings for the 119 scan, and for the 118 scan.
the only changes i made was convert nano2 to Ilink and i have 33 inches dish which works on both 118 and 119 and i have no diseqc switch and this is the only dish that i have
You have to make two different scans. For 119W, use LNB freq 11250 For 118W, use LNB freq 10750 or 10600 Use the same DisEqC switch setting for both, i.e. if 118 is working with switch setting port 1, than use port 1 also for 119W.
daminder: With the latest info you have given, I am at a loss to make a suggestion to restore your 119. Considering you are getting 118W, the problem can't be attributed to your local network, so resetting the network would not change the things and might even be counter productive. Perhaps sada or one of the others here will give a better answer.
here should be settinng, for 118.8 and 119 for sat 118.8 diseqc 2 tp freq 11715 lnb 10750 22khz off, multiswitch off ,,lnb on f for 119 diseqc 2 tp freq 12,239 lnb 10750 lnb power on, rest of options of.
