Hi all,

Great to find some helpful folks! Thanks for all you do!

Having a weird problem with this set.

With the back on, works fine for about 1/2 hr then the sound quits working, about 20 minutes later the set starts rebooting sometimes getting a picture sometimes not. This ultimately ends with the dreaded 3 blinking lights. Let it cool off and this same sequence will repeat.

With the back off, works fine for about 1/2 hr then the sound quits working, about 20 minutes later the set develops verticle lines (see below). The lines also appear in the menu if you pull it up while it is doing it. They can be cleared by powering off and back on but will come back at some point in the future. However, in this instance the tv will run as long as you want - never the 3 lights. The sound will not return until the set has been off a while, presumably enough to cool off completely.

Appreciate any advice anyone has!

Welcome to eCoustics Greg!

Those lines are horizontal!

It look like a bad weld but it can be the color wheel module or a defective lamp.

Thanks for the response. What do you think the best approach would be, replace the lamp first?

Yes then the color wheel module!

Those DLP TV are not too much reliable, A new LCD TV will be a good solution because you can put 1000$ on this TV then always have to replace the lamp.
