I recently purchased a new VCR/DVD combo. However whenever i try to copy i get fading brightness in and out on the copyed tape. I've heard if i set up my vcr using an RF adapter and connecting it where my cable would normally be connected, that this problem would go away, is this true?

Nope. DVD copy protection is in place to cause the problem you are having. The only way that I know of to copy DVDs is with a computer.

There are DVD players that can be made "vcr friendly" and "multi-region". My Apex 600 is one. dvdrhelp.com has some interesting tidbits about that.

You need a device to remove the macrovision copy protection. You can pick one up from ebay for about $40. You simply run your RCA video line from your DVD player into it and back out to your VCR.
