I threw that p.o.s away. I'm talking about getting an all new system. I was just wanting to know what I would have to buy to get some tv going again. I know by reading some of your other posts on here you know what you're talking about. Unlike most people. Let me know asap. I greatly appreciate you helping me with this. Thanks for your quick responses too.

well...sigh. there is a 2 part to this question. first part was answered. now here is the second part that you need to think about. Pretty soon all fta receivers other than the HD models will not work at all. so make sure you think about that before you purchase. If at all possible i would try and ride it out to see where the Sat world is going.

Thanks for everything you guys. I was just wondering if there is another option that I don't know about. Other than a fta receiver. I appreciate all your guys help. Have a good one.

Yes there is another option. Get AT&T U-verse (great system) and pay monthly fees. The complete package, including Internet, Telephone, and Television,(All the premium channels plus loads of HD channels) only costs about 200 bucks a month. And I'm not sure but I think unlimited long distance is included with that. It's a great deal. Beats the hell out of Satellite, and Comcast cable. And unlike FTA, it never goes dark.....unless there's a malfunction....which almost never happens.

For about $25 a month, I get 4 mbps internet 24/7, and run three voip phone lines (Canadian, USA and British) at less than 2 cents a minute for most of my calling (or 0c). If IKS was legal I would be getting all the TV I would want to watch.
