First let me say that as of this moment NFusion is not dead.
I also need to say that I am not, by any definition of the word, a spokesperson for NFusion. But I have been asked to give this update.
With that said, the update is very short and sweet...
Many people have been spreading the rumor that dealers and distributors have been dumping their stock of NFusion receivers. Quite the opposite is true. The main North American importers have increased their stock levels to nearly, if not over, the billion dollar mark (yes, that is billion with a "B"). They did this on the promise that what everyone is waiting for would be released in a very short period of time. This is why many people have stated their firm belief that NFusion will return.
Unfortunately, as everyone painfully knows, that hasn't happened. It hasn't happened because the powers that be are intentionally withholding the information that everyone wants.
It is expected that sometime in the next week or so, a major effort will be put forth to obtain the release of what everyone wants. NFusion forum supports this effort, remains optimistic about the outcome and is prepared to move in whatever direction becomes needed to enhance the effort.
If and when we have more information, we will post it.
It's a shame an icon such as Nfusion is neither dead nor alive. Technically speaking they were one of the most advanced boxes and had always been on the cutting edge of IKS technology. Rest of copy-cat IKS boxes looked up to them to lead the way.
But legal and logistical issues (finding a way to continue making big money safely), got too much a hard bone to chew.
What happens next with all those "discarded" Nfusions using private servers will be the most indicative of things to come.
As a Canadain or American company using IKS on Nfusion, I do not rate them high. I am not enough of a techincal person to rate the receiver above others. My only surprise is that they did not get shut down much earlier. Overall I would say, they (Nfusion distributors) wer sloppy. Bel was sloppy and Echostar was sloppy.
On 23rd February, 2010, the owner of Nfusion and his wife were sited for Contempt of Court and found guilty - this was for non-compliance of the second Anton Piller Order. The judge also ordered "to purge forthwith his continuing contempt by disclosing, delivering up and granting access to the hard drive for the HP Laptop."
A "sentencing hearing will be fixed" at a later date.
Chaff: That was a good post. Keep to this kind of posts instead of trying to mess around with culture, class prejudice and such things, which are nonoe of your business.
Truth always hurts and you should be man enough to take the pain of the truth. Good day, son.
