Bought this TV 12/11/03, was very satisfied. In June 2008 replaced the bulb. I have noticed the picture getting darker over time. Live in an older house, gas heat, dusty. I was wondering if the back of the screen could be dirty, causing the the screen to dim. Today had a Sony authorized repair person out. He said the back of the screen could not be cleaned, said it is sealed and does not get dirty. He said I needed to replace the optical block which would be about $1500 (cost prohibitive). Does this sound right?
