Light area in middle of Samsung DLP screen

Forgive me if this is covered in another thread. I've searched but haven't really turned up anything exactly like this. I've got a light area in the center of my screen, a HLS5687W 56" DLP. It starts a couple of inches in from the bottom, and there's a hard edge where it starts. It's about 6 inches wide or so at the bottom, then gets thinner as it goes up, and goes up about a foot or foot and a half. It appears on all inputs. I had a Tech out to see if it was the collapsed light tunnel issue, which they deemed it was not. He said it looks like something has gotten inside and light is refracting off it. He could tear it down and see if he could find anything, for around $200, but no promising he'd find anything. Before going down that road, does anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance!

Wow, it looks like somebody hit the front of the TV, that ghostly image you see is from a moved screen filter. It's a very thin white sheet that is opaque, which if you take it out and shake it make a sound similar to thunder. It's most likely moved or burned, you'll have to place it back in its place and worst scenario replaces it. It's fairly easy to do; however taking apart the screen is very delicate.
Hope this helps out.

Sorry, been meaning to post and haven't had a chance. Thanks for your reply! Something like that was my initial thought as well. If that's the case though, wouldn't it change some when you pushed on the screen? I can push on it and it doesn't change at all. Also, you can't tell anything when looking inside the TV at the inside of the screen. Would you normally be able to with something like that? Lastly, is there anywhere you could suggest to purchase one if that's what it comes to?

Thanks again!
