okay, so I have this toshiba sd2700 dvd player and the power won't turn on. when I push the power button the light comes on for a brief second and then it goes off. I opened it up and started tinkering. I started unplugging ribbon cables and got it to turn on and eject and such when I unplugged one of the ribbon cables. it looks to be the cable that provides power and control to the motor that spins the DVD. I plugged it back in while the power was on and it went out. needless to say, I'm not an engineer and I know nothing about electronics. any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I don't want to buy a new player if I don't have to.
