Help!! While attempting to connect a DVD player to my old heavy Panasonic TV it tilted off the table yanking on the coaxial wall connection from the satellite to the antenna input on the TV. Ripped the TV male coaxial connection right out of the back of the TV. Is this fixable? Is there an alternative, like coax from satellite to RCA plug input? Only RCA inputs are available besides the coaxial antenna input. Thanks

Welcome on Ecoustics!

I just do a repair 2 months ago for same problem on a old RCA TV.

I just welded a RG-6 cable in the tuner box and put hot glue to maintain the cable firmly, then you use a male/male adaptor to do the junction.

Why not use the RCA jacks from the satellite to the tv?

You could always take the tv apart and try to reconnect the coaxial connector back to the tv. It's only 2 wires....

You could use and old vcr's RCA outputs to connect to your tv, then use the coax input on the vcr to connect whatever you want as an input.

Ohhh yeah...

You could also simply replace the tv with a newer model. :-)

Is there an S-Video jack on the TV? If so, use that with the red/white RCA audio for a much better picture.

There are no jacks other than RCA. The satellite box is on another floor and connects to this TV thru the wall by F connectors. I need some type of adapter that splits the F connector output to the RCA audio and video. A VCR has been suggested but I wonder if there's a real adapter to do this.

What you need is called an RF Modulator.

"What you need is called an RF Modulator."

A RF modulator take the Video and Audio then convert it in RF, he need to convert RF in Video and Audio.

A old VCR work fine convert RF to Audio/Video.

mhmillers setup sounds like a remote (secondary) TV mounted on a wall with no place for a VCR and a long RG6 feed from the receiver.

A old heavy TV on a wall?

It is remote from the satellite box, not on a wall, it HAS RCA plugs but no other input except the antenna. I know I need a demodulator but apparently they don't exist or aren't easily found. Radio Shack doesn't have them. Has anyone tried a VCR in this situation?

Check on my above post!

I confirmed that a VCR work, you hook you RF cable in the VCR and hook the RCA output of VCR to your TV.

Right so sorry! The detail from the first post slipped my mind. He did mention that the TV fell off a table.
