I read somewhere that a guy was busted for possesion of stolen property thanks to the IP address that his stolen xbox live console was using. The cops narrowed the IP address down to his physical location. The police had enough time to get a search warrant and got to the place and found all sorts of stolen stuff.
How is it possible to find this guy through a mere IP address and not the soldier captured by the Taliban? I'll show my ignorance by possing the question to IKS? Or pirated software - ie operating systems?
It seems that enforcement is arbitrarily enforced.
