PIP with Comcast Cable?

I will be making a decision whether to buy a Samsung or Panasonic plasma TV (PN58B650 or TCP54V10). The Samsung is cheaper and has PIP but poor custormer service and the Panasonic has supposedly deeper blacks and is more reliable but no PIP. I have read old posts that to get PIP to work with Comcast cable you had to split the cable with one split going to the converter and the other split going to the TV antenna input along with a connection of component cables. I am confused about these connections as I thought that the signal was scrambled and the converter box does the scrambling?! If can get the PIP to work, I will choose the Samsung as I am extremely irritated by the lengthy and frequent commercial interruptions.

PIP was mainly for analog sources. With digital cable you'd need 2 cable boxes to get PIP.

Definitely get the Panasonic. You won't be sorry.

Thanks, David. Was a little confused why the Comcast remote has PIP controls.

Panasonic is probably the best choice for plasma

If they have dual tuner boxes you could get PIP. It's been a long time since I've had cable.
