I enjoy reading these forums.
This is the best FTA site on the web.
If some could answer question for me it would much appreciated.
I am looking to buy a
FTA Receiver HD mpeg2/mpeg4 DVB-S2 with terrestrial tuner.
Does any one know if the terrestrial tuner part will control a
DiSEqC switch as I have 4 terrestrial antennas all pointed at
different stations and wound like to use DiSEqC switch
to auto select.
Thanks

I don't think that will work.

A diseq switch is used to change between alternative LNBs or dishes. It simply won't do anything to a terrestrial aerial input as you have to use a satellite receiver to issue the Diseq commands and that won't recognize anything on terrestrial frequencies.

Terrestrial tuner has a different coaxial input from Satellite input
2 different independent coaxial inputs
Ant input has no DC voltage driver control
Sat input uses 14/18v selectable inputs
DC voltage is what controls DISEqC switch

Sonic View FTA receiver has MPEG-2/MPEG-4 with Terresterial tuner
I don't know why yo'll need 4 antennas?
Check this antenna

I paid $40 for this antenna
It has a built in motor and a great amplifier + remote control to move
It's both UHF/VHF 90 mile radius

If yo still want to use all 4 antennas
Then what you need to connect all 4 with a signal combiner (4 way splitter)
Yo put all 4 coax antennas in (1 to each connector)
And one output goes to yor FTA Antenna input
Either method should work like a charm

The terrestrial signal can pass in a diseq switch, but few modif must be made.

You can use a old receiver to switch the diseq, you use the loop on back receiver to hook your output to your TV tuner, only add inside the receiver a 470pf capacitor in serial to cut the voltage from the receiver, you open the swithch and you put one 470pf in serial on each input for each antenna to cut the voltage to antenna.

Now on your receiver you can programmed 4 channels with 4 different satellite with each 1 its port 1-2-3-4.

You simply up or down the channels on remote to select the antenna wanted!

This is not copy and past!

Sorry King!

I see your post only after!

I have same problem with both OTA antenna pointed on different position, use a splitter is not very good because you can have interference from the other antenna, it not work for me, I must realy use a switch to keep the picture crystal clean without ghost and not lose signal Db.

Each channel is running different frequency
How do you think UHF and VHF connected on one coaxial?

The sketch you got is a 3 port signal combiner
Each one has a resistor to ground

In many cases the antenna I have above is so powerful with built in amp
This could be best solution

There is a forum called AVSforum.com
Many similar old questions answered there

But this antenna is new
