You can try this first...
http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Or else if you dont care about your stuff being removed, then you can do a clean install.. and if you can avoid using internet explorer to surf websites, it will help the problem in future.. you can use http://www.mozilla.org/firefox and install adblock extension

You can repair it with your XP CD.

I suggest you to save your files if you are able, you can install free version Avast antvirus at www.avast.com and scan it but I don't thing that your problem will be repair without formatting your Laptop.

Usualy this kind of virus destroy your register and block a restoring.

If you are not sure on what doing post your questions live and I will try to help you.

Just a word of caution... any files that you save off of your computer may contain virus.. which will be transferred abck when you transfer those files back to a newly installed computer.. so I suggest try microsoft security essentials before doing something else.. it will not hurt your computer

plymouth,
So far so good. BUT The thing is one of the profile still has viruses. Other two profile working normally. The profile still giving me the problem has some valuable documents.
Do you think if I can be able transfer to other working profile or creat a new profile and transfer those documents to new profile.
Junckey funkey ....you are telling me earlier that document may contain virus. But do you think a pre downloaded or a document can be contaminated with the current virus ??

If you open your system like a Administrator you will be able to take your files and copied it in a other profile.

You can also copied your files in safe mode.

Is it the administrator profil which is the problem?

I don't think that you have a virus in your documents, click on file with right button and scan it before you copy and past.

With Vista disk you have the option "repair" if my memory is good.

plymouth and others thanks.

plymouth, what you suggested was very good option.
Problem is fully solved and comp working great virus free. I decided to reboot it, soon as I inserted cd # 1 it gave me an option to restore it on a back dates. Which I wanted from begining but virus never let me. Now I know this option wasn't avilable without the recry cd. Anyway, Now I have restore it as of 10/31/2009. This way I have saved every document.
Anyway great help. Thanks

in the future turn off the systems restore option. Viruses love to hide in there. and I would suggest using DR WEB CURIT its free
