I have broadband Internet only.

In two rooms I receive around 60 to 70 cable channels
on two old 19" TVs, but on my Samsung 47" ProjectionTV/HDTV
I can only pick up the locals a total of 13.

Please, No guessing looking for an
experience person. THANKS

Look in in the sammy's documentation, and see if there is an analog/digital setup item.

You may be picking up the 10 true digital signals, while the rest of them are analog and the sammy won't take them.

DOA......good point I was thinking of that but didn't try it because I thought all the Cable signals were digital signals.

You'll smack yourself when you learn the answer.

Your two older TV's have the tuners set to pick up cable (channels 2- 80/90 or so).

Your new flat screen has the tuner set to scan only "air" (which it sees as channels 2-13). Somewhere in the menu will be the setup for scanning channels - change it there!!

Sammy is right
Most likely that's what happened
The most non-digital channels yo can pickup will be 70 channels

However for Gary Ghost
Title of this thread Hack cable TV
If yo are expecting channels like 200+
This requires an entirely different QAM tuner that only cable companies uses

This is a website I see all the time
I do not endorse it

ISP provider - TWC
TV - Phillips with built in HDTV tuner.
In my case I used 2way cable splitter, one end to cable modem, second one directly to TV. Scanned channels with TV using Cable mode. Found 525 digital channels and 29 analog channels. Watching only about 15 digital channels including locals, SHO HD and Versus HD. All other digital channels are Scrambled. Any idea how to resolve this to watch more channels? Links above are helpful, but is there a proven method or equipment???

Actually yo're lucky to get one scrambled channel on this setting
Most cable companies use PowerVu+ or DC-II
I haven't seen any credible proof of breaching their security
So to answer yor question
I'm yet to see any proofs
Only claims by the site I posted above

As far as local HD
That is normal cuz it's mandated by FCC that all cable companies carry Free digital locals
