tim for slinger u need to have dn or bev rec. it won't work with fta rec,
u can setup private server (relatively safe) or public server.(which are not safe)...

it won't work with fta rec
there is rec called neosat that has ppv's up with private sharing u have to pay $ 100 for channels for life time. ( u don't need to buy slinger)
buy neosat, google private sharing..
etc..

Default SLINGER CLIENT PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS
The Slinger is designed to share or distribute a legitimate STB subscription (e.g. DirecTV, Dish, Bell, etc), much like the 'sling box' shares a subscription channel over the net. It should be used in accordance with all federal, state and local copyright laws. In general, if you only plan to share your subscription with yourself, you won't be in violation of any laws. However, if you plan to share your subscription with others or participate in public sharing networks, it is advisable that you consult any applicable copyright laws.

Your Slinger has two operating modes. Server or Client. In Server mode you are the source of the authorization packets. You must use a valid subscribed card to serve the control words over the Internet to your remote receiver. That receiver maybe in the next room or 3,000 miles away, it makes no difference. All you need is a high speed Internet connection like Cable or ADSL on both ends.

These are the prerequisites for a minimal client setup.

* A satellite receiver and dish aimed at the provider's satellite(s);
* A ROM 102 card EEPROM file that is married to your receiver. Public numbers and flash is fine. To explain what a married EEPROM is, is beyond the scope of this document;
* A Slinger and a PC to program it;
* A home router connected to a cable or ADS modem or any other Internet connection that connects to your home router (compatible routers listed at the end of this document);
* A 9V power supply and a mini USB cable for the Slinger.
* Slinger drivers - install both driver executables from the IKSlinger/Drivers folder. The software will not run without these drivers;

APPLICATION TAB

After installing the drivers from the IKSlinger/Drivers folder connect the 9V power supply to the Slinger, use a mini USB cable to connect it to your computer. You operating system will detect the Slinger and inform you that it is ready to be used.
Click on "Test" to test Slinger. It should detect it, run some basic tests and display OK.
