New member Username: OjackeePost Number: 1 Registered: Jun-09 | I was wondering if it is possible to use a Dish Network receiver with a DirectTV dish? I moved into a new house where there is already a DirectTV dish hooked up, and I have a Dish Network receiver...will that work? This same question was posted 3 years ago, but technology has grown leaps and bounds since, so I am asking it again. Thanks for your help! |

New member Username: BreezelowBuda, Texas USA Post Number: 5 Registered: Sep-06 | Ojackee. The directv dish and lnb(s) are perfectly ok to recieve dishnet signals. The only difference is in the mechanical attachment, so you can't use DN lnb(s) on a directv dish, or vice versa. So, yes you can, but everything ouside must match by brand. Ditto, as Nydas said, dish will need re-aiming. |

I said that if you have a DTV dish, you can use it for Dish - "You will need to change the LNB, and repoint the Dish" A dish is just a reflector with some add ons and can be used as a reflector. Jackee Yes you can use this dish, but only for one dn satellite because the LNB's bracket is made for only 4 degrees and Dn is +/- 9 degrees as for 110-119, but like Rico says you can't get Anik f3 118.75W . The solution like Nalin says is put a new LNB good for 118-119 then a new bracket and enjoy 110-118.75-119. |
