How many 119 channels are HD? Is it necessary to have 8psk to watch all HD channels using either Viewsat Max or Sonicview 8000?

For list of channels on any sat, go to

http://www.lyngsat*com

You need 8 spk module for HD channels on DN, but not for BEV

Pegg,

Check this link (it has all Sats and Channels)

To view Dishnetwork HD Channels you need 8psk.

Thanks

Thanks. Do I need to get a new specific dish to get HD or it works with standard 18 or 24 inch dish?

no specific dish needed,

according to rico, the majority of HD channels have gone to n3... Nalin has chimed in about one HD channel that is in the clear - no dollar sign-

Chumley: Please do not misquote me.
I haven't even looked at the list that is available on 119, but if you need the information, you can look at the list at
http://www.lyngsat*com

A 18" dish is often adequate, but most people use a 20" dish, because with one LNB you can get 119 and 110 easily on a 20" dish. There are more HD channels on 110W

61.5W has more HD channels.

Please note that a majority of HD channels have gone over to Nagra3 encryption.

Thanks Nalin. Do I need a specific LNB to get both 119 and 110?

Absolutely so.
The minimum is a 30" dish as supplied with Dishpro 500 plus or Dishpro 1000 plus and the special LNB that comes with it.
Alternatively, the cheaper solution is a 33" Dish and a special LNB like a CB2008A. Total cost of these two might be as low as $70. Look at this URL for detailed info. Then you know what kind of equipment you may be looking for at your favourite satellite site or store.
