It is almost one week now, can't fix it.
Want to get two sats.118 pointed with cb2008a and 129 pointed with legacy dual-2output-one satellite. It is Sub rec VIP 612 DVR.
I gather the signal from both sats with sw21 and forwarded to a dish spliter.dish spliter received the signal and again splits the signal into two (sat1 and sat2) Attaching these two sat signal into rec.
Now the problem starts. While checking the switch. Some time it says error some time it says can't find the signal may be bad weather or may be switch is bad. At some point it start recoganizing 118 and this sat working fine. But no channel from 129.Switch is still intact.
what is wrong I'm doing. ANY CLUE>>> getting crazy here.

Why not hook 129 LNB directly in sub receiver?

When you use a sat. splitter, you must power off the other receiver.

I tried to switch both sats into rec without any switch. Rec doesn't recoganizin them at all.
I will try again later.
Plymouth, do you think if there any chance the switch can be bad.
I'm wondering if I need any switch like dpp64 or dp34 ?
Do you it is happening cuz I'm cb2008 and legacy.
I do many questions. Please bear with me and keep on responding me . I will try other ways as well . Thank you plymouth.

Plymouth, Is it true that type of using the switch depends on the type of LNB in use ???

DP44 or similar might be what you need. You will get power problems with DP34, so if you are buying new, I suggest DP44

Plymouth, That site isn't helping me much.
Now I have remove the spliter. Two signal coming into sw21 and forward attached to one side of the rec.
Did a switch check.Rec says only one sat is attached.Plymouth what you make of that? Bad switch ?????
Now I'm gonna go buy a switch. If i can't use it they don't take back. I wanna make sure im buying the right one.
Plymouth, TELL ME ONE THING PLEASE...WHAT TYPE SWITCH DEPENDS WHAT TYPE OF LNB IN USE?
please let know before I go.

DP44. The first 4 is for 4 inputs. The second 4 is for outputs.
You can connect 4 LNBs and at the output you can have up to four receives. All these directly attach to the Switch.
The switch comes with power inserter - make sure it does.
When you do ANY connect/disconnect with ANY switch, make sure the power to the receivers connected to the switch is OFF.
Whereve you order it from, you can talk with the sles people and ask them if everything you have is compatible.

The DP34 (3 input 4 output) was OK except that it needed power. With DN receivers it was not a problem, but attaching 2 FTAs caused a problems at time. You had to buy a a power inserter to help matter.s
With DP44 this is not a problem as it comes with a power inserter.
