Hello,

I was curious how one would go about connecting a standard cable (coaxial RG-6) to a projector via HDMI.

Basically, I get HD channels through my local cable company without any kind of cable box/digital receiver. In the case of connecting to a television, I simply connect the cable and I'm done.

Now with my new projector, I have various inputs (hdmi, vga, s-video, rca). I mainly use a HDMI input switcher so everything is hooked in by HDMI (PS3, Wii, DVD player).

I am wondering what I would need to get my cable working with the projector as well? I would assume there is some kind of adaptor/connector to stick on the end of the cable that allows a hdmi and audio cables to be plugged in the other end ? I searched but cannot find such a thing.

Thanks,

I think that the normal cable wouldnt be effective in converting hdmi signals.

Sounds like you'll need a cable box. w/HDMI output.
