Colombian channels on sat nss806 (40.5°W)

Mikee
Yo got the right dish and LNB
From lyngsat:
http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/nss806_hemi.html
Yo'll need a 100CM to 125CM
So 1.2meter is just about right

The next step is to get the correct alignment
Use this site:
http://satcalculator.freehostia.com
Select 40.5W and put yor zip code
Yo'll need only 3 items:
- Azmith
- Elevation
- Skew Angle
I don't think skew is required for this satellite

This is an example for Miami Florida
Azmith can be estimated from a compass
Mag Azm= 123°
- Elevation= 37°
- Skew Angle= 53°

Next step
Antenna setup
Select NSS806/C (40.5°W)
Select LNB type and TP like 3632V
Get the best Q level

Ask any questions yo want
But I don't speak Spanish

Some of the line-up as of 4/15/09 ALL FREE TO AIR

In Asia and Europe where c-band birds are spaced out more than two degrees apart you can get c-band using smaller dish sizes, in North America this is not the case, as I have stated before, also 3/4 FEC helps with undersized reflectors, feeds using 7/8 FEC rate will not give you anything on a 4' dish,

If you hook up a spectrum analyser to a smaller reflector you will no why it will not work, as the interference is way to intense, this is not the old analog days where you play around to try and get the sparkles out, this is the digital age, you need a solid lock, transponder power and broadcast settings is what it comes down to, the arc is to crowded here.

King

Lyngsat give 115-145 cm

dishpointer.com give 150 cm for Miami florida

40.5W C-Band: NSS 806 NSS806CH 38 150

He can get many channels but not all channels.
---------------------------------------

Here what I get with a 33"

Result with my position in regard with dishpointer.com

30.0W HISPASAT 1C.1D HIS01DKE outside footprint

15 channels on this bird
--------------------------------
15.0W TELSTAR 12 TES012ES outside footprint

16 channels on this bird
--------------------------------
22.0W NSS 7 NSS007WA outside footprint

4 channels on this bird
--------------------------------

If your dish is perfectly aimed and you buy a very good LNB you can get this channels but you can lose many channels with rain falls.

King put this answer on a new thread not for be bashed.

FTA TESTER need to learn again.

I trust lyngsat better
1.2M is within min requirements with good alignement can work well

Iceberg doesn't know about newer high power C-band
I talk directly to engineers of sat owners in trade shows
Jimmy and FTAss (Forgetta bout it)
This is totally out of yor leagues Tard bois
DMX741 is a quad polarity
And Circular no skew required
http://www.wsidigital.com/dmx741-c-ku-band-banda-lnb-lnbf.htm
Everything is Vertical or Horizontal
Hardware rotates V in a circular motion to produce R-Circular
LNB doesn't change
Also they rotate H in counter clock to produce L-Circular
LNB doesn't change

Anyone say Circular LNB doesn't know what the FU*ck they talking about
The polarity is rotating so yo don't tilt LNB feedhorn
Polarity fundamental is all V and H
In antenna setup yo won't find L or R
It's always V and H
And 1.2 Meter is the right size
Installation can be a bit tricky
Dial exact frequency tune maybe required
Also Birdog is highly recommended with latest bin

hi , king tapeman , thanks so much for you post , i am cuban , my wife is colombian , i want put that channels for her , you know , i see other lnb DMX241 is only band C , have the same gain and noise , 70 db gain , 13 k noise , you think if that lnb working good , with circular and lineal polarization ,i want only see band C with this dish , i have other dish 33' with motor with invacom lnb , and see the band KU ..

man the friday i received the dish , and let me ask somethink , i see what you put one channel what no have that satellite , caracol tv , that channel have in other satellite , 58 w i want too get that channel colombian , but that satellite is polarization lineal , i have a other motor SG2100 , i want put the motor for move the dish for both satellite , is correct ? , but first i put the dish alone for aling the 40.5 , and ajust the lnb first , then play with the motor , rigth ? is better

how i put the lnb DMX241 in the dish , what position ? or have any picture or somethink for see the correct position ...

i see in other forum what other people put that lnb with a conical scalar ring , ,say what that ring up the level of signal 10 % , is better correct ??
